Idealist’s mission is to help build a world where all people can lead free and dignified lives by inviting people everywhere to imagine, connect, and act.

I lead product development on Idealist.org (React, Python), serving 1.3 million monthly visitors looking to work or volunteer for organizations and companies with a social impact mission.

My team has increased applicants-per-job by 500% over 3 years by enhancing job application UX, improving the site’s search ranking algorithm, and amplifying signup CTAs.

We launched a custom Applicant Tracking System (ATS) in 2021, which has streamlined over 640,000 job applications.

In 2022, we introduced a resume recommendation engine, used by 9,500+ hiring managers and recruiters.

We built a Salary Survey, complete with interactive data visualizations of over 50,000 responses. Read more about that project here.

Most recently, Idealist has merged with VolunteerMatch, strengthening and expanding our community of volunteers and volunteer managers.
